Italy: exploring Sicily from Mount Etna to the Southern Coast
Italy: exploring Sicily from Mount Etna to the Southern Coast
The trip in a nutshell
Self-driven tour
This is a self-driven tour. We love a road trip us, and not just for the throwback playlists, but because it gives you the freedom to truly explore a destination. If you feel willing and comfortable to drive, let us know when booking. I'm sure that as a thanks, your non-driving travel buddies will keep you well-fed with snacks!
This tour of Sicily is a celebration of what we all love most about Italy: sunshine, good food and picturesque villages! Get ready to discover this little corner of paradise and explore some of the prettiest cities in Eastern Sicily, such as Catania, Siracusa, Modica and Ragusa. In the words of Sigmund Freud, Sicily is “The loveliest region of Italy: a stunning orgy of colours, scents, and lights…a great delight”
The tour is the perfect balance between dreamy city walks and lounging on white sandy beaches. What more can you ask for? You’ll have the opportunity to trek around Mount Etna and enjoy the spectacular views over the valley below. Oh, and did we mention the food? Sicilian cuisine is one of Italy’s most appreciated regional cuisines! You definitely won’t be disappointed!
Last but not least… Italian people and their ability to make you feel at home, everywhere you are. After all, Italy is the birthplace of WeRoad and we can’t wait to show you around!
Tour mood
This is a self drive tour to give us the flexibility to move around as we please. So, if you are happy to drive, please let us know when you book. Your fellow travellers will be super grateful! When packing, remember the golden rule of “less is more”. We recommend using compact luggage to facilitate hotel changes and optimise space in the cars.
Physical effort
The tour is one of our more relaxed adventures. We'll be wandering around on foot but this is our trip and we can go at our own pace. You’ll also have the option to enjoy a short trek on Mount Etna, but this does not require any specific physical effort/preparation.
